Please be advised that GNO-VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) has merged into the organization of GNODRP (Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partnership). This does not have any impact on the mission of GNO-VOAD and ties the disaster preparedness and recovery activities of the two organizations more closely.

The primary mission of GNODRP is to

• Supports pre-disaster voluntary agency coordination, cooperation, and communication through networking, planning, and training. • Support regional coordination of voluntary organizations during disaster, identifying and matching services to needs to avoid duplication of efforts. • Support individual Parish LTRO (Long Term Recovery Organizations) that may be staffing local EOC’s during activation. • Support Regional In-Kind Donations and Volunteer management • Support post disaster long term recovery management.

VOAD will no longer hold separate meetings and will participate as a part of the monthly GNODRP meetings.

The GNOVOAD Blog has a new look and is now the GNODRP VOAD Exchange.

You can reach this site by going to gnovoad.wordpress.com. Be sure to subscribe to the site to receive any new information posted.

You may learn more about GNODRP be going to www.gnodrp.org. If you are not an active participant in GNODRP activities, please be sure to start. This is the only way to truly bring together agencies and ensure effective communication, collaboration, and coordination. To get on the GNODRP distribution list, email info@gnodrp.org.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you.
