Please be advised that GNO-VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) has merged into the organization of GNODRP (Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partnership). This does not have any impact on the mission of GNO-VOAD and ties the disaster preparedness and recovery activities of the two organizations more closely.
The primary mission of GNODRP is to
• Supports pre-disaster voluntary agency coordination, cooperation, and communication through networking, planning, and training. • Support regional coordination of voluntary organizations during disaster, identifying and matching services to needs to avoid duplication of efforts. • Support individual Parish LTRO (Long Term Recovery Organizations) that may be staffing local EOC’s during activation. • Support Regional In-Kind Donations and Volunteer management • Support post disaster long term recovery management.
VOAD will no longer hold separate meetings and will participate as a part of the monthly GNODRP meetings.
The GNOVOAD Blog has a new look and is now the GNODRP VOAD Exchange.
